To meet your old Teachers is always great. It adds more joy if you are doing that on his/her birthday. We had checked that Eby Sir would be available at NIT-C on 4th February. Niju, Praveesh and Varun booked their tickets accordingly so that we can reach Calicut by evening. But some unexpected meetings at office made Niju to cancel the trip. Pratheek has also shown interest to join with us. But he could not make out. The plan in paper was to catch the train at 2’o clock from Kannur. Thanks to the guard (who gave the green signal 10 minutes after the actual departure time) and applause to our built in punctuality. We reached Kozhikode station around 3.30 PM. The different directions from different people to a single place made us late by another 10-15 minutes to get the correct bus. The scene which has few North Indian girls with scarcity of proper dress made us ensure that the bus will go to NIT- Calicut. : P. We reached NIT-C soon. In fact it took an hour. It’s true that when you involve in something, you don’t know how time pass. In between, by involving in something I mean talking with Praveesh and Varun and not about the afore said scene.
We were doubtful whether there will be entry inside the campus for outsiders. Praveesh spontaneously started speaking in Hindi and we passed the main gate like college students. To be in the shoes of a college student from a Software Professional was not a big deal as in heart of heart we still belong to the former group. Security did not take a chance to stop the ‘hindi wala guys’. ;) Soon we found Eby Sir. As always he was busy with some activities. This time it was some conference. Eby Sir told that he needs about half an hour to be free. It was our turn to go round the campus in that time. Thank God I did not have any experience as I had from IIM –K.We were not much interested to see the campus as our main agenda was very far from that. Eby Sir had told us that we can take snacks from MC. Well, MC means Mini Canteen. According to Eby Sir, people over that part of world use short forms widely. MC- mini canteen, LC- Lover’s corner etc. People who are extravagant in fees and other expenses are thrifty in using words. . Falling back, Eby Sir was free by the time we had tea and snacks from MC. Praveesh was more interested in the posters that decorated the wall than the Samossa and Bonda. From Mini Canteen we moved to the out gate. In between we few met Eby Sir’s “classmates”. Then we told the plan of Cake cutting. Eby Sir called his colleagues and we assembled at the Main Canteen. Then it was the time of cake cutting, photo session, sharing jokes, chat with the colleagues etc etc. As always our conversation with Eby Sir covered many distinct topics including Placement cell, higher studies, personal matters, politics and why not the crush updates from our end too. We had a great time with Sir. When the hour hand of my watch crossed 7, we decided to make a move. Eby Sir’s colleagues- Prakash and Sumith were with us till we left NIT campus.
We reached Calicut around 8. Thereafter had dinner and got train by 9. Delivered to home by 11. Although we missed Niju badly, we had a lovely evening. Brining the memories of the great time at CGPU- one of the best things that happened in life.

What is BTH?
Blekinge Institute of Technology ?? no never… why should I discuss about such things when there are many simple things under the sky.
At least the people in Kochi would expand it as Bharath Tourist Home. There are few restaurants together with the tourist home. Last day I happened to be in one of the vegetarian restaurants of BTH. Two of my friends were also with me. We were on our way back from temple and was expecting a good vegetarian break fast. BTH did not bring disappointment in any regard. Although the price is much much more than the normal rates, the food is worth it.
We had breakfast. The breakfast bill for three people crossed Rs 400 INR. Hope you can guess how expensive the rates are when compared to the Cochin standard rates.
But as said before the quality of the food is worth that. We tried Poori Masala,Dosa and a cup of tea each. I recommend it as one time try hotel as the expensive rates cannot be afforded on a higher frequency.
